of the Southern New England Conference of the United Church of Christ

The Roxbury Congregational Church is a member congregation of the Litchfield South Association. The Association includes 17 Congregations and Clergy of the United Church of Christ located in western Connecticut.
The purpose of this Association is:
• To cultivate a true and active fellowship among its constituent churches, and in all its work to strive to advance the Christian religion, both in its personal and social aspects;
• To promote an intelligent understanding of and participation in, Our Church’s Wider Mission;
• To coordinate its own efforts in this direction of those of the Southern New England Conference of the United Church of Christ;
• To guide Members In Discernment for authorized ministries;
• To serve as an ecclesiastical council for the ordination; and installation of clergy and to accord standing to such authorized ministers as may be admitted to its membership, in which function it shall be guided ordinarily by the Constitution, By-Laws, and Manual on the Ministry in the United Church of Christ and the Association.
Origins
The Association takes its origins from the original Association of Litchfield County, formed in 1752 and divided in 1792.

The Authorized Ministers and Congregations in Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Litchfield First, Middlebury, Milton, New Milford, New Preston, Oxford, Plymouth, Roxbury, South Britain, Southbury, Washington, Watertown, Woodbury, First, and North.
Church and Ministry Committee
The Committee is responsible for establishing and maintaining professional standards for the ministry, and making decisions regarding ministerial standing. They also establish and maintain standards regarding the covenantal life of churches and pastors. The Committee is also responsible for the evaluation of candidates for in-care status and other originating relationships as defined in the Manual on Ministry and LSA and CCM policies The Church and Ministry Committee also supports any church in the association whose professional leadership is changing, which is about to issue a call, and any pastor or church experiencing covenantal relationship difficulties.
