Racial Justice

 

 

"What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?" Micah 6:8


June 2020-

We live in chaotic times. We are dealing with a pandemic of COVID-19 and the bubbling to the surface of the reality that racism has not gone away. Racism is showing itself in many ways and it calls us all to look inward to how we see the eyes through which we look at the world. It may be subtle as a passing thought or monetary fear, it might be through the words we use or the actions we take. While the popular media broadcasts the most scandalous examples, one might want to ponder deeply the ways that racism plays out in our lives. It is a continuum. 

The world seems to be in chaos these days and I invite you to have faith and lean on the God that created all humanity and trust that God will love us still while on this journey of discovery.

"Racial justice is the systematic fair treatment of people of all races, resulting in equitable opportunities and outcomes for all. Racial justice — or racial equity — goes beyond “anti-racism.” It is not just the absence of discrimination and inequities, but also the presence of deliberate systems and supports to achieve and sustain racial equity through proactive and preventative measures."
